A canvas cloth Pakistan mill that also makes the finished product
Most buyers who search for canvas cloth Pakistan suppliers end up talking to one of two kinds of business: a weaver who sells rolls of greige fabric, or a trader who buys finished tents and tarpaulins from whoever is cheapest that month. Curiotex Industries Pakistan sits in a different place. We twist our own yarn, weave our own canvas, dye it with our own colour recipes and then cut and sew it into tents, tarpaulins, truck covers and bags in the same factory in Kasur, close to Lahore. When you order from us, the people who chose the yarn are the same people who will answer your question about seam strength.
The business started in 1975 as a family textile concern and has grown, decade by decade, into one of the larger producers of canvas fabric, canvas products and polyester fabric in the country. Our name is best known abroad for emergency relief tents, which remain our priority export, but the same looms supply heavy canvas for military shelters, marquee roofs, store tents, lorry covers, Hajj bags and bulk cloth sold by the roll.
This homepage gives you a quick map of what we make, how we make it, which markets we serve and how an order moves from your first message to the container door. Each product line has its own detailed page with sizes and specifications, and every page ends with a way to send us an inquiry.
Product lines made from our canvas
Everything we sell begins as yarn on our doubling frames. Because the fabric is ours, we can match weight, weave and finish to the end use instead of forcing one standard cloth into every product. The six lines below cover nearly every canvas need we receive from institutional and trade buyers.
Canvas tents
Relief, military, marquee, store, camping, deluxe, school, hospital and general-purpose models in cotton canvas from 270 to 600 gsm. Start with the canvas tents overview.
Tarpaulins
Rip-stop cotton canvas tarps of 12 to 20 oz, chemically waterproofed or wax coated, with brass or aluminium eyelets and reinforcing patches. See tarpaulin sizes.
Truck canvas
Made-to-measure covers for trucks, lorries, jeeps and heavy machinery in 7 to 20 oz cotton, polyester or poly-cotton, with ropes, webbing and fittings.
Canvas fabric
Plain canvas from 7 to 24 oz, drop cloth, ducting cloth, sheeting and half panama, woven mainly from 7s and 9s count yarn in plain, twill, drill and denim constructions.
Canvas bags
Tool totes, Hajj bags with wire reinforcement and anti-theft features, travel and shopping bags, and the zipperless canvas thela we export to Saudi Arabia.
Polyester fabrics
Grey cloth in PV, PC, pure polyester and cotton qualities, widely used for football inner linings, in 39 and 56 inch widths.
Canvas tents Pakistan buyers order for relief, defence and events
Tents account for the largest share of our export volume. Relief agencies and procurement offices come to us for family ridge tents with single or double fly, winterized shelters with liners and stove-pipe openings, and shelters built to the widely used UNHCR family-tent pattern. These refugee and relief tents are made in 400 or 450 gsm cotton canvas, usually in natural white or olive green, and ship with poles, pegs and a carry bag.
For armed forces and paramilitary buyers we produce command post tents, senior officer tents, frame tents for workshops and field hospitals, and heavy one-piece-roof marquees. Details sit on the military tents page. Hospitality and event companies, on the other hand, usually want multi-pole marquees, single-pole party tents and our deluxe dinner tent, which can be supplied with printed inner folds and coloured linings.
Between those two worlds sit the practical shelters that municipal bodies, schools and contractors buy: 600 gsm store frame tents for keeping supplies dry through winter, temporary classroom tents, dispensary tents and general-purpose frame shelters. Whatever the model, the canvas can be made waterproof, rot-proof, termite-proof, abrasion resistant or resistant to high temperatures, according to the climate where it will stand.
Why buy from a canvas seller Pakistan has produced for decades
Pakistan has a long cotton tradition, a deep pool of weaving and stitching labour, and established sea routes to the Gulf, East Africa and West Africa. For heavy cotton canvas in particular, those advantages translate into fabric that is competitive on cost without being thin or loosely woven. Our raw material is bought locally, which shortens the supply chain and lets us react when a buyer changes the specification late in the process.
What a vertically integrated canvas seller changes for you
- One point of responsibility from yarn to carton, so a defect is traced and fixed rather than argued over between subcontractors.
- Fabric weight and construction set for the product, for example a heavier roof and lighter walls on the African refugee tent.
- Colour consistency across a large order, because dyeing is done in our own unit using recipes we control.
- Faster sampling, since a sample can be woven, finished and stitched without waiting on outside mills.
- Packing designed for the route, whether a tent travels by sea container, truck or charter aircraft.
We also take advice seriously as part of the service. Our team regularly guides first-time importers on whether 400 or 450 gsm suits their climate, whether a PVC groundsheet is worth the extra weight, or whether a poly-cotton truck cover will outlast pure cotton on their routes.
Canvas cloth specifications we weave
Buyers of fabric by the roll want numbers before anything else. The table below summarises the main constructions; the canvas fabric page explains each in more depth, including drop cloth for overseas painting markets and the ducting cloth we ship in large volumes to the Middle East.
| Quality | Typical specification | Common uses |
|---|---|---|
| Plain canvas | 7-24 oz, mostly 7s and 9s count yarn | Bags, covers, tarps, general industrial use |
| Tent canvas | 270-600 gsm cotton, plain or finished | Relief, military, marquee and store tents |
| Drop cloth | To international standards | Painting, household and protective use abroad |
| Ducting cloth | Several weights and yarn types | HVAC duct connectors and industrial wrapping |
| Sheeting cloth | 20×20/60×60 63"; 30×30/76×56 59"; 30×30/76×68 59" | Bed sheets, table covers, ironing trolley covers |
| Half panama | 20×10/40×36 59"; 20×12/40×36 59" | Aprons, banners, wall hangings, bags |
If you are new to fabric weights, remember that ounces per square yard and grams per square metre describe the same idea: how much a fixed area of cloth weighs. Heavier canvas generally means tighter weave or thicker yarn, which improves water resistance and tear strength but adds cost and shipping weight. We can recommend the lightest cloth that still does the job, rather than simply the heaviest.
Finishes that make canvas last in harsh climates
Raw cotton canvas is strong but vulnerable to rain, mildew and insects. Much of the value we add lies in what happens after weaving. Our finishing options cover the conditions our tents and tarps meet in desert camps, monsoon floods and humid coastal ports.
Waterproof and water-impregnated
Chemical treatments that make the fibres repel water while the cloth still breathes, reducing condensation inside a shelter.
Rot-proof and termite-proof
Protection against fungal decay and insect attack, important where canvas touches damp ground for months.
Abrasion resistant
Useful for truck covers rubbing on loads and tents pitched repeatedly on rough terrain.
High-temperature resistant
Fabric treated for tents that stand under intense sun or near heat sources such as stoves.
Wax coating is another option for tarpaulins, giving a traditional weather-shedding surface. For buyers who prefer synthetics, we also supply polyester-cotton tarps and HDPE sheets.
Markets we serve at home and abroad
Our three main export regions are disaster-affected areas, the Middle East and West Africa. Relief demand is unpredictable, so we keep tent patterns, accessories and packing formats ready to move into production quickly once a specification is approved. Gulf buyers tend to order ducting cloth, drop cloth, canvas thela bags and Hajj bags alongside tents, while West African importers frequently combine tents with tarpaulins and bulk canvas cloth in one consignment.
At home, we sell to Pakistani traders, transporters who need truck canvas, event organisers who want marquees, schools and local bodies. Whoever you are, the same quality rules apply; a tarp sold in Lahore comes off the same looms as one heading to a port in the Gulf.
Not sure which product fits your project? Describe the use, the climate and the quantity in an inquiry and we will propose a fabric weight, finish and model.
How our five in-house units work together
Production at Curiotex is organised into five units that we call the Curio Units. Each one hands work to the next, and supervisors check output before it moves on.
- Doubling twists single yarns together on our own frames to give the twist and strength the canvas needs.
- Weaving turns that yarn into canvas under experienced supervisors who balance output with fabric quality.
- Dyeing applies firm, fast colours using techniques we have refined over the years, so olive green stays olive green.
- Stitching cuts and sews the fabric on advanced machines into tents, tarps, covers and bags.
- Packing folds, bundles, marks and cartons goods so they arrive clean and countable, which also affects your landed cost.
You can read about each stage, including the quality checkpoints between them, on our Curio Units page. The short version: when every stage is under one roof, small problems are caught early instead of being discovered at the destination.
Ordering canvas cloth from Pakistan, step by step
Whether you are buying a single container of tarpaulins or a framework quantity of relief tents, the order follows a predictable route. Knowing it in advance helps you plan budgets and delivery windows.

- Sample. We can develop samples to your design. They usually ship in around two weeks, and established customers receive them at production prices.
- Approval and payment. New customers normally work on a sight letter of credit or a 70% advance.
- Production. Lead time is usually 30 to 45 days from product approval, depending on quantity.
- Shipment. You choose the mode: sea or container, truck, charter flight or courier. See shipment options for details.
Minimum order quantities exist but vary by product, so ask about yours. If goods arrive defective, they may be returned for repair or replacement.

Frequently asked questions about canvas cloth Pakistan
What kinds of canvas cloth do you supply from Pakistan?
We weave plain canvas from 7 to 24 oz, tent canvas from about 270 to 600 gsm, drop cloth, ducting cloth, sheeting cloth and half panama. Most canvas uses well-blended 7s and 9s count yarn in plain, twill, drill or denim weaves. Fabric can be supplied in greige or dyed, with waterproof, rot-proof and other finishes.
Are you a manufacturer or a trader?
We are a manufacturer. Our Kasur factory has its own doubling, weaving, dyeing, stitching and packing units, and we export the goods we make. That means we can change weight, weave or finish to suit your project and take direct responsibility for quality at every stage.
Which markets do you mainly export to?
Our main export areas are disaster-affected regions, the Middle East and West Africa. Emergency relief tents are our priority export, followed by canvas tarpaulins, bulk canvas cloth and allied items such as bags and ducting cloth. We also sell extensively within Pakistan.
What payment terms do you offer new customers?
For new customers we normally work on a sight letter of credit or 70% advance payment, with the balance settled against shipping documents. Terms for repeat buyers can be discussed once a trading history is in place.
How long does production take?
Production usually takes 30 to 45 days from the date the product and sample are approved. The exact time depends on quantity and how much custom work, such as special finishes or printing, the order involves. We confirm a schedule with every proforma invoice.
Can I get a sample before placing an order?
Yes. We can send samples of our standard products or develop new samples from your own design or drawing. Samples generally ship in about two weeks. For well-established customers, samples are charged at production prices.
Do your tents meet UNHCR requirements?
Several of our relief models are built to the widely used UNHCR family-tent pattern, including double fly single pole tents with optional inner lining and stove pipe opening. We do not claim UN approval; we manufacture to the specification you provide and share fabric details for your technical review.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Yes, there is a minimum order for most products, but it varies by item. A fabric order, a tent order and a bag order each have different practical minimums because of loom set-up, cutting and packing. Tell us your quantity in the inquiry form and we will confirm.
How will my order be shipped?
You choose the most feasible mode and we handle the rest. Options include sea freight by container, truck for regional deliveries, charter flights for urgent relief consignments and international courier for samples or small parcels. Freight cost depends on mode, destination and consignment size.
Can I visit you before ordering?
Yes. Our sales office is at PL-20 Siddiq Trade Center, Gulberg III, Lahore, and our factory is in Kasur. Please call +92 317 8885522 or email info@curiotex.com to arrange a convenient time.
