How our canvas products Pakistan catalogue is organised
Curiotex manufactures six families of goods, and all of them start with fabric woven in our own factory in Kasur. This page is the hub for every one of them. If you already know what you need, jump to the relevant section and follow the link to the detailed page. If you are still deciding, read the sections on fabric options, finishes and how to choose, which apply across the whole range of canvas products Pakistan importers and local buyers order from us.
The families are canvas tents, tarpaulins, truck canvas, canvas fabric, canvas bags and polyester fabrics. Tents are subdivided into nine categories because their uses differ so much: a family relief shelter, a field hospital and a wedding marquee share a material but little else.
Because the fabric for every family comes off the same looms, buyers who order more than one line benefit from consistent quality and a single supplier relationship. A relief agency can source shelters, groundsheet canvas and tarpaulins in one negotiation; a Gulf importer can fill a container with ducting cloth and bags; a transporter can order truck covers and spare tarps together. The table below gives a quick orientation before you go deeper.
| Family | Main material | Typical buyers |
|---|---|---|
| Canvas tents | Cotton canvas 270-600 gsm | Relief agencies, armed forces, event firms, institutions |
| Tarpaulin | 12-20 oz canvas, poly-cotton, HDPE | Contractors, factories, warehouses, traders |
| Truck canvas | 7-20 oz cotton, polyester or blend | Transporters, fleet owners, machinery users |
| Canvas fabric | 7-24 oz plain canvas and cotton cloths | Converters, importers, duct makers |
| Canvas bags | Heavy cotton canvas | Retailers, Hajj and Umrah suppliers, tool distributors |
| Polyester fabrics | PV, PC, pure polyester, cotton grey cloth | Sports goods makers, garment converters |
Canvas tents: nine categories for different jobs
Tents are our largest product family and the one we export most. Each category below has its own page with dimensions, fabric weight and accessories. The canvas tents overview compares them side by side.
Refugee tents
Single and double fly family ridge tents for 4 to 12 people, winterized tents, UNHCR-pattern single pole tents, African refugee tents and dispensary frame tents, mainly 400-450 gsm.
Military tents
Command post, senior officer, standard marquee and two frame tent designs in 450-600 gsm canvas, with inner tents and stove pipe openings as options.
Marquee tents
Multi-pole marquees for up to 300 guests, single pole party tents and marquee party tents in natural, solid or striped canvas.
Store tents
A 14 × 6 m heavy-duty frame tent in 600 gsm canvas with fitted PVC groundsheet, built to keep goods dry through a harsh winter.
Camping tents
Scout tents, a 4 m bell tent sleeping ten, mountain-shaped Nepal tents and the budget Sunset cabin tent, in 270-450 gsm.
Deluxe tents
The SDT/11 hospitality tent for dinners and weddings, from 4 × 4 m to 18 × 30 m, with printed inner folds and coloured linings.
School tents
The STR/25 classroom tent in 6 × 12 m and 5 × 8 m sizes, double-folded 450 g/m² canvas and a cotton inner lining.
Hospital tents
A 10.97 × 5.94 m single or double fly tent in 500 gsm canvas, popular with armies and disaster rehabilitation teams.
General tents
Shelter tents, double pole regulation tents and a 12 × 6 m general purpose tent for storage, dispensaries or accommodation.
Tarpaulins and truck canvas
Canvas tarpaulins
Rip-stop canvas tarpaulin is our second-oldest product line. Standard sheets run from 12' × 9' to 33' × 27' in 12 to 20 oz waterproof canvas, finished with brass or aluminium eyelets and reinforcing patches at corners and stress points. They protect building sites, factory yards, chemical storage sheds and open stock from rain, damp and dust. We also offer polyester-cotton and HDPE tarps for buyers who prefer lighter synthetic sheets. Full sizes are on the tarpaulin page.
Truck canvas
Truck covers are always made to order. Send us the body dimensions or a drawing, and we will cut a cover in 7 to 20 oz cotton, polyester or poly-cotton canvas with metal fittings, ropes, webbing and, where needed, entry flaps, windows and side curtains. The same approach works for jeeps, lorries and heavy plant that must be covered on site.
Canvas fabric, bags and polyester cloth
Canvas fabric by the roll
Buyers who make their own finished goods can order our fabric directly. Plain canvas from 7 to 24 oz is the flagship, joined by drop cloth for overseas painting and household markets, ducting cloth shipped in volume to the Middle East, sheeting cloth for bed and table linen, and half panama for aprons, banners and bags. Read the canvas fabric page for constructions.
Canvas bags
Our bag range covers tool totes strong enough for drills and wrenches, Hajj bags with wire reinforcement and anti-theft details, canvas travel and shopping bags, and the zipperless canvas thela with sturdy straps that we export to Saudi Arabia. Private-label work is possible on request.
Polyester fabrics
Grey cloth has been part of our business since 1975. Today we weave polyester viscose, polyester cotton, pure polyester and cotton qualities, mainly used as football inner linings, in 39 and 56 inch widths. Details are on the polyester fabrics page.
Fabric options across our canvas products
The same product can perform very differently depending on the cloth chosen. These are the main variables we discuss with buyers.
Weight
We quote tent canvas in grams per square metre (gsm) and most fabric and tarp canvas in ounces per square yard. Lighter cloth, around 270 to 325 gsm, suits camping tents that are carried and pitched often. Relief shelters usually use 400 or 450 gsm. Military, marquee and hospital tents move up to 500 gsm, and long-standing store tents use 600 gsm.
Fibre
Cotton canvas breathes, handles heat well and is easy to repair, which is why it remains the standard for tents. Polyester and poly-cotton are lighter for their strength and resist rot without treatment, so they are popular for truck covers and some tarps. Synthetic store tent versions are also available.
Weave and yarn
Most of our canvas is woven from 7s and 9s count yarn in plain weave, with twill, drill and denim constructions for specific uses. Rip-stop constructions add stronger yarns at intervals so a tear cannot run across the sheet.
Colour
Natural white and olive green are the most requested colours for tents. Grey, yellow, green and custom shades are possible, as are stripes for party tents and printed inner folds for deluxe tents.
Finishes and treatments available
Most of our canvas products can be finished to suit the climate and the length of service expected. Finishes are applied to the fabric before stitching, so they protect the entire surface evenly.
- Waterproof or water-impregnated treatments for tents, tarps and covers exposed to rain.
- Wax coating for traditional weather-shedding tarpaulins.
- Rot-proofing for canvas that stays in contact with damp ground or is stored folded.
- Termite-proofing for long-term camps in tropical regions.
- Abrasion resistance for covers rubbing against loads and tents pitched frequently.
- High-temperature resistance for intense sun and stove-heated shelters.
Treatments add cost and sometimes weight, so we suggest only those that make sense for your conditions. A school tent in a dry region needs different protection from a store tent in a monsoon zone.
Customising canvas products to your specification
Almost every item in this catalogue can be changed. We publish standard sizes because they help buyers compare, but much of our work is built to drawings, tender documents or a sample sent by the customer.
Size and shape
Any tent footprint, wall height or tarp size; truck covers cut to body measurements.
Colour and print
Dyed shades, stripes and printed inner folds; agency logos on request.
Accessories
Inner tents, liners, stove pipe openings, flysheets, PE, PVC or canvas groundsheets, mud-flaps.
Fittings
Brass or aluminium eyelets, metal or wooden poles, iron pegs, nylon ropes, webbing and buckles.
Packing
Roll packs, carry bags, polythene bundles or wooden boxes, marked for distribution.
If you have a design, we can develop a sample from it. Samples usually ship in about two weeks.
How to choose the right canvas product
Buyers new to canvas sometimes over-specify, paying for weight they do not need, or under-specify and replace goods within a season. Working through these questions avoids both mistakes.
- How long must it last? A shelter for a three-month emergency and a store tent for several winters need different fabric weights and finishes.
- What is the climate? Heavy rain points to waterproofing and rot-proofing; strong sun to UV and heat treatments; cold to double fly designs and liners.
- How often will it move? Frequently pitched tents benefit from lighter, abrasion-resistant canvas and simple pole systems.
- Who will set it up? Relief recipients and volunteers need intuitive designs; trained crews can handle multi-pole marquees.
- How will it be shipped? Packed volume and weight affect freight cost, especially by air.
Share your answers in an inquiry and our team will propose a product, fabric weight and finish, with an alternative if budget is tight.
Popular canvas products by buyer type
Different customers tend to gravitate towards particular parts of the catalogue. The pairings below are not rules, but they show where most conversations start.
| Buyer | Products most often ordered |
|---|---|
| NGOs and relief agencies | Family ridge tents, winterized tents, UNHCR-pattern tents, dispensary tents, tarpaulins |
| Defence and government procurement | Command post and officer tents, frame tents, hospital tents, store tents |
| Middle East importers | Ducting cloth, drop cloth, Hajj bags, canvas thela, accommodation tents |
| West African traders | Mixed loads of tents, tarps and canvas cloth, plus truck covers |
| Event and hospitality firms | Multi-pole marquees, party tents, deluxe SDT/11 tents |
| Pakistani transporters and contractors | Truck canvas, rip-stop tarps, site covers |
Whatever group you belong to, the catalogue is a starting point rather than a limit. If an item you need is not listed but can be made from heavy canvas, ask us; many of our current products began as a single customer request that later became a standard line.
Ordering from the catalogue
Orders follow the same pattern across all product families. After you send the specification and quantity, we confirm the details and, if needed, prepare a sample. New customers usually pay by sight letter of credit or 70% advance. Production generally takes 30 to 45 days from approval, depending on volume. Minimum quantities apply and vary by product.
Goods can leave by sea container, truck, charter flight or courier; you choose the mode and we take care of the rest. The shipment page explains each option, and the FAQ page covers returns and samples. To speak with someone directly, call +92 317 8885522 or email info@curiotex.com.
Frequently asked questions about canvas products Pakistan
Which canvas products do you manufacture?
We manufacture canvas tents in nine categories, canvas tarpaulins, made-to-measure truck canvas, canvas fabric by the roll, canvas bags and polyester grey fabrics. All are produced from fabric woven in our own units in Kasur, Pakistan, and most can be customised in size, colour and finish.
Can I order a product in a size not listed in the catalogue?
Yes. The listed sizes are standards that help buyers compare, but we regularly make tents, tarps and covers to custom dimensions. Send a drawing or measurements with your inquiry and we will confirm feasibility and quote.
What is the difference between gsm and oz?
Both measure fabric weight. Gsm means grams per square metre and is common for tent canvas; oz usually means ounces per square yard and is common for tarps and fabric rolls. One ounce per square yard is roughly 34 gsm, so 12 oz canvas is about 400 gsm.
Which colours are available?
Natural white and olive green are the standard tent colours. Grey, yellow, green and other custom shades can be dyed in our own unit, and party tents can be supplied in stripes. Deluxe tents can have printed inner folds and coloured linings.
Do you make products in polyester as well as cotton?
Yes. Truck canvas is available in 100% polyester and poly-cotton as well as cotton, tarps are offered in polyester-cotton and HDPE, and a synthetic version of the store frame tent exists. Our polyester grey fabrics are a separate product line.
Can you add our logo or markings?
Logos, agency markings and distribution labels can usually be printed or stitched on tents, bags and packing. Tell us the artwork, placement and colour at the inquiry stage so it can be included in the sample for approval.
How do I decide between 400 and 450 gsm for relief tents?
450 gsm gives extra weather resistance and lifespan, which suits longer deployments or wetter regions. 400 gsm is lighter and cheaper to ship, which can matter for short emergency use or air freight. We can advise based on your climate and expected service period.
Do tents come with poles and pegs?
Yes, our tents are supplied with metal poles and iron pegs, usually with a carry bag. Depending on the model, pins, a hammer, ropes, a groundsheet, inner tent or flysheet may be included or offered as options. Each tent page lists its accessories.
Are samples available for every product line?
Samples can be supplied for tents, tarps, truck covers, bags and fabric, either from our standard range or developed to your own design. They usually ship in about two weeks. For fabric, swatches and short lengths are often enough; for tents, a complete sample with accessories lets your team test pitching and packing before committing to volume.
Can I mix different products in one shipment?
Yes. Many importers combine tents, tarpaulins, canvas cloth and bags in one container to make better use of space. We plan the packing so each product line is clearly marked and easy to separate on arrival.
