Canvas order inquiry form

Fill in the fields below and press Send Inquiry. Your canvas order inquiry goes straight to our sales team in Lahore, who share it with production in Kasur where needed. Fields marked with an asterisk are required; the more you add in the details box, the more precise our first reply will be.

Fields marked * are required. Your details are used only to answer your inquiry.

Details every canvas order inquiry should contain

Whatever the product, a few pieces of information determine price and delivery. Before looking at product-specific points, make sure your message covers these basics.

  • Who you are — company or organisation, country and the person handling the purchase.
  • Quantity — an exact figure or a range. Unit price normally improves as volume grows, so a range lets us show the difference.
  • Destination — the port, airport or city where goods are to be delivered.
  • Trade term — EXW Kasur, FOB Karachi or Port Qasim, CFR or CIF. Our shipment page explains them.
  • Required date — when the goods must be in your hands, so we can plan production and transport backwards from it.
  • Purpose — relief distribution, military use, resale, hire, or industrial application. Knowing the end use helps us recommend the right fabric weight and finish.

What to specify when ordering canvas tents

Tents involve the most variables, so a clear specification matters. Start with the model: family ridge, single-pole, winterized, frame, marquee, bell, scout or a hospitality design. Each is described on our canvas tents page with standard dimensions you can quote directly.

Points to cover

  • Size: floor dimensions, centre height and wall height, or the person capacity of a standard model.
  • Fabric: cotton canvas weight in gsm, such as 400, 450, 500 or 600, plus any special roof and wall weights.
  • Single fly or double fly, and whether an inner tent or inner lining is needed.
  • Colour: natural white, olive green or another shade.
  • Finishes: waterproof, rot-proof, termite-proof or other treatments.
  • Accessories: poles, pegs, ropes, hammer, carry bag, stove pipe opening, groundsheet (canvas, PE or PVC).
  • Packing: one tent per bag, bales, or poles in wooden boxes.

For relief buyers, saying "built to the UNHCR family-tent pattern" is a helpful shorthand, but please also attach the exact specification sheet you are working to, because agency documents differ in fabric weights and accessories. Military procurement teams should do the same with their tender drawings; our military tent range shows typical models.

Tarpaulin and truck cover inquiries

Tarpaulins and truck covers are usually specified in ounces per square yard rather than gsm. Our canvas tarpaulins come in 12 to 20 oz waterproof canvas, while truck canvas spans roughly 7 to 20 oz depending on use. State the finished size you want; standard tarpaulin sizes run from 12'×9' up to 33'×27', and custom sizes are welcome.

For truck covers a drawing is almost essential. Mark the side, front and rear panels, the position of tie-down points and any openings. If you have an old cover, photos with a tape measure in view help our cutters a great deal. See the truck canvas page for typical constructions.

Canvas and polyester fabric constructions

Fabric buyers usually know exactly what they want, and the most useful inquiry quotes the construction in the standard trade format: warp count × weft count / ends per inch × picks per inch, followed by width. For example, a sheeting cloth may be written as 30×30 / 76×68 at 59 inches, and a polyester viscose grey cloth as 40pv×40pv / 48×48 at 39 or 56 inches.

  • Fabric type: plain canvas, drill, twill, drop cloth, ducting cloth, sheeting, half panama, PV, PC or pure polyester.
  • Construction and width as above, or weight in oz or gsm for canvas.
  • Grey (loomstate), dyed or finished; colour references if dyed.
  • Roll length or bale weight, and whether the fabric should be rolled on tubes or folded.
  • Monthly or one-time quantity in metres, yards or kilograms.

If you have a current supplier's cloth, a small swatch posted to us lets our weaving staff match it precisely. Browse our canvas fabric and polyester fabric pages for the constructions we already run.

Canvas bag inquiries

For canvas bags, tell us the style (tote, tool bag, Hajj bag, travel bag or the zipperless thela popular in Saudi Arabia), outer dimensions, gusset depth, handle type and length, fabric weight, colour, and closures such as zips or anti-theft features. Printing or logo work should be described with the number of colours and the print area. A photo or physical sample is often the fastest way to communicate the design, and we can develop a new sample from your artwork.

Mention the packing you need, for example a set number of bags per carton, polybags for each item, or retail labels, because packing changes carton count and freight volume.

How Curiotex prepares your quotation

Once your inquiry arrives, the sales team reviews it and, if anything is unclear, writes back with specific questions. For standard products we can price from our existing costing. Custom items are costed from first principles: yarn, doubling, weaving, dyeing or finishing, stitching, accessories and packing. That is why a complete specification matters; it lets us cost the real product rather than an assumption.

  1. Review — we check the specification and confirm anything ambiguous.
  2. Costing — materials, production and packing are calculated for your quantity.
  3. Freight — for CFR or CIF prices we obtain a current freight figure for your port.
  4. Quotation — you receive a written offer listing specification, unit price, trade term, payment terms, lead time and validity.
  5. Proforma invoice — once you accept, we issue a proforma invoice for payment or L/C opening.

Quotations carry a validity period because yarn and freight costs move. If your purchase is delayed beyond the validity date, ask us to refresh the offer.

Samples before a bulk order

Samples are available for most products, and we can develop new samples from your own designs. A sample usually takes around two weeks to prepare and dispatch, after which courier time applies. For well-established customers we offer samples at production prices. Approval of the sample becomes the reference for bulk production, so check it carefully against your requirements and note any changes in writing.

Tip for tender buyers: if the tender requires a sample with your bid, tell us the submission deadline in your first message. Sample lead time plus courier transit must fit inside that window.

Payment terms, lead time and minimum order

Payment terms

For new customers we work on a Sight L/C (letter of credit payable at sight) or 70% advance payment. Under a sight L/C, your bank undertakes to pay once we present compliant shipping documents, which protects both sides. With the advance option, the remaining 30% is settled as agreed in the proforma invoice. Please send any draft L/C for our review before it is issued.

Lead time

Production usually takes 30 to 45 days from product approval, depending on quantity. Approval means the specification and, where relevant, the sample have been confirmed and payment or L/C is in place. Transit time is added on top.

Minimum order quantity

We do apply minimum order quantities, and they vary by product. Fabric runs need enough length to justify setting up looms; dyed colours need a minimum batch; stitched items have a practical minimum per design. Tell us your intended quantity and we will confirm whether it meets the minimum or suggest a workable alternative.

From canvas order inquiry to delivery: a typical timeline

Buyers often ask how long the whole journey takes, from the first canvas order inquiry to goods arriving at their warehouse. The answer has several parts, and only some of them are in our hands. The figure below sets out the usual sequence so you can plan realistically.

Canvas order inquiry timeline from quotation and sample approval through 30-45 days production to shipment
Sequence of a typical export order. Sample time applies only when a sample is required.

The quotation stage depends mostly on how complete the specification is. Sample development, when needed, adds roughly two weeks plus courier transit to you. Your review of the sample and the opening of an L/C or transfer of the advance happen on your side, and banks can take several days to issue a letter of credit. Once everything is approved, production usually needs 30 to 45 days depending on quantity, followed by inland transport to Karachi or Port Qasim, the voyage or flight, and customs clearance at destination.

Seasonal products deserve extra margin. Winterized shelters must be on site before the first cold nights, monsoon tarpaulins before the rains, and event marquees before the wedding season. Working backwards from the date the goods must be in use, and adding a cushion for each stage, is the surest way to avoid a last-minute air freight bill.

Common gaps that slow down an inquiry

Most delays in quoting come from a handful of missing details. Checking for them before you press send can save several rounds of email.

  • Quoting a tent capacity, such as "10 persons", without dimensions — capacity standards differ between agencies and markets.
  • Giving fabric weight without the unit; 450 gsm and 450 oz are very different things, and a bare "12" could mean ounces or something else entirely.
  • Asking for a CIF price without naming the destination port.
  • Requesting "waterproof" without saying whether a chemical finish, wax coating or PVC-type groundsheet is expected.
  • Omitting accessories, which can account for a meaningful share of tent cost and packed volume.

What happens after you submit

After you press Send Inquiry, you should see a confirmation message on the screen. Our team then reviews the request and replies by email, usually during Pakistani business hours. If the inquiry is urgent, follow up by phone so we can prioritise it.

From there the order moves through quotation, sample approval if needed, proforma invoice, payment or L/C, production in our in-house units, inspection, packing and shipment. We keep you informed at each step. If your question is general rather than order-specific, our FAQ may already answer it.

Canvas order inquiry questions

Is there any charge for sending an inquiry?

No. Submitting the form or emailing a request costs nothing and does not commit you to buy. We reply with questions or a written quotation, and you decide whether to proceed. Samples may carry a charge depending on the item and your relationship with us.

I do not know the exact fabric weight. Can I still ask for a price?

Yes. Describe how the product will be used, the climate and the expected service life, and we will recommend a suitable gsm or ounce weight. A photo or old sample of what you use today also helps us suggest an equivalent.

Can I request prices for several products in one inquiry?

Certainly. List each item separately with its own size, fabric, quantity and accessories. Mixed orders, such as tents with groundsheets and tarpaulins, can often be combined in one container, which helps with freight.

Which currency will my quotation be in?

Tell us the currency you need in your inquiry. Many international canvas buyers prefer US dollars, but tenders sometimes require another currency, and we will confirm what is possible when we prepare the offer.

What payment methods do you accept for a first order?

New customers pay by Sight L/C or 70% advance, with the balance as stated on the proforma invoice. Terms for repeat customers can be discussed as the business relationship develops.

How soon can production start after I confirm?

Production starts once the specification or sample is approved and payment or L/C is in place. From that point, the usual lead time is 30 to 45 days depending on quantity, with shipping time added afterwards.

Can you make a product from my own design?

Yes. Send drawings, photos or a physical sample. We can develop a sample from your design, normally in about two weeks, and use the approved sample as the reference for bulk production.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Yes, it varies by product. Fabrics, dyed colours and stitched items each have practical minimums. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we will confirm whether it works or suggest the nearest feasible option.

What should I do if I do not receive a reply?

Check your spam folder first, then call or WhatsApp +92 317 8885522 or email info@curiotex.com with your company name so we can locate the inquiry. Very large attachments are sometimes blocked, so a quick call helps.
