Armed forces, paramilitary units, defence contractors and government stores all need shelter that can be pitched in a hurry, lived in for months and packed away for the next exercise. All six models are cut from cotton canvas, most of them treated to be waterproof and rot resistant. Every tent ships with poles, pegs and a carry bag. The standard colours are olive green and natural white, and we can dye other shades on request.

Command post tent specifications

A command post must go up fast, stay dark and stay dry. Our Command Post Tent is a compact square shelter with near-vertical walls, so maps, radios and folding tables can be pushed right to the edges. It is the tent a small headquarters, a checkpoint or a signals detachment sets up first.

With an inner tent and flysheet fitted, the command post becomes a double-skin shelter that holds heat in winter and blocks light leakage at night. The stove pipe opening allows a heater in cold posts.

Senior officer tent for long deployments

Officers' quarters are lived in day and night, often through a whole season. The Senior Officer Tent is built for exactly that kind of long use in harsh weather. It is a double-layer square tent with a generous outer shell and an inner room, giving a dry, insulated living space with headroom across most of the floor.

Fabric is 400 or 450 gsm cotton canvas. Options include an inner lining for winter and a stove pipe opening. The tall outer wall of 2.55 m creates a sheltered veranda between the two layers, useful for boots, kit and a wash stand.

Standard marquee tents for troop accommodation

For barracks, mess tents and bulk stores, the heavy-duty Standard Marquee Tent is the workhorse. Its roof is cut as one piece, so there are no seams across the top where water could find a path. Fabric is 500 or 600 gsm cotton canvas. Beyond accommodation, units use it for storage, as an aid post and during disaster relief duty.

Groundsheets can be canvas, PE or PVC. Because the width stays at 6 m, longer sizes simply add bays, which makes it easy to plan rows of tents in a camp layout.

Marquee Universal G.S. in four service lengths

The G.S. (general service) marquee shares one cross-section across four lengths, so poles, ropes and spare panels are largely interchangeable. That standardisation is why quartermasters like it: one stock of spares supports an operating theatre, a ward and a store. It is offered single or double fly in 500 gsm canvas, with an optional canvas, PE or PVC groundsheet.

Military frame tents for workshops and field hospitals

Centre poles get in the way when a vehicle engine is on a stand or a row of stretchers must be laid out. Frame tents remove them. The metal frame carries the roof, so the whole floor is clear and usable.

Both models accept an optional groundsheet. The larger Frame Tent II gives roughly 47 m² of unobstructed floor with 3.2 m of height in the middle, enough for workbenches, generator maintenance or a small ward. For dedicated medical units, compare it with our hospital tent.

Field use cases and which tent fits

Mixing models within one camp is normal. A battalion-sized camp may use a cluster of command post tents around one Frame Tent I for operations, rows of standard marquees for troops, and a Frame Tent II at the vehicle park.

Olive green and camouflage colour options

Olive green is the default for service tents because it blends with vegetation across most of Pakistan and much of the Middle East and Africa. Our own dyeing unit applies fast colours, which matters on a tent that will stand in direct sun for months: a poorly fixed dye fades unevenly and makes a camp more visible from the air.

Beyond olive green and natural white, buyers can ask for other solid shades such as khaki, sand or desert tan for arid theatres, or darker greens for forested areas. Printed multi-colour camouflage patterns depend on the design and order size, so share your pattern reference or colour swatch when you send an inquiry and we will advise what is practical. As a general guide:

• Desert and semi-arid terrain: sand, khaki or tan solids
• Plains, scrub and farmland: olive green
• Forest and hill country: darker green shades
• Snow regions: white or natural canvas, often with an olive outer fly for off-season use

Durability finishes for military canvas

Field tents face sun, rain, dust, insects and rough handling. Cotton canvas performs well under all of these when it is woven tightly and finished correctly. Because doubling, weaving and dyeing are done in-house, we can apply finishes to the fabric before cutting rather than coating a finished tent.

Inner tents, flysheets and kit supplied with military tents

Every tent leaves our packing unit as a complete kit: canvas body, metal poles, iron pegs, guy ropes and a cotton carry bag. On top of this baseline, units can configure each model for the theatre where it will serve.

Inner tent and flysheet

An inner tent hangs inside the main shell and gives a second skin. In summer it keeps dust and insects off sleeping areas; in winter it traps an insulating air layer. A separate flysheet over the roof does the opposite job outside, catching sun and rain before they reach the main canvas. Together they turn a single-skin Command Post Tent into a shelter that can stay occupied through a cold season.

Linings and stove openings

A cotton inner lining is the simplest way to cut condensation and draughts. Where heaters are used, a reinforced stove pipe ring keeps the flue away from bare fabric. Both are offered on the Command Post and Senior Officer tents.

Spare parts for depots

Depots that hold tents for years often order extra pegs, ropes and spare poles with the main consignment, along with loose canvas for patching. Ask for these at quotation stage so they can be packed alongside the tents.

Pitching, care and storage of service tents

1. Choose level, drained ground and clear stones that could puncture the groundsheet.
2. Lay out and peg the corners first, then raise poles or assemble the frame, then tension guy ropes evenly.
3. Re-tension after rain: cotton shrinks slightly when wet, so slacken ropes a little in heavy rain and tighten again as the canvas dries.
4. Dry before packing: never store canvas wet for long; rot-proofing helps but airflow is still the best protection.
5. Store off the floor in a dry, ventilated store, with poles and pegs bundled separately.
